Snoop Dogg Favorite Green Smoothie Recipe

Let me share a delightful surprise I stumbled upon in Snoop Dogg’s cookbook, courtesy of my unexpected admiration for his culinary collaborations with Martha Stewart. Enter “Tha Smoovie,” a spinach citrus power smoothie. It has become a game-changer in my morning routine these past few weeks!

Packed with fresh spinach, zesty oranges, creamy banana, a hint of protein powder (if desired), and a splash of coconut water, this smoothie is a blend of flavors that’s both sweet and nutritious.

What I love most is how it doesn’t taste overly “green” but still delivers all those feel-good nutrients. It’s like a tasty secret weapon that keeps me energized and on track with my healthy eating goals.

So, whether you’re new to WW or a seasoned lifetime member like me, give this smoothie a whirl. It’s proof that healthy eating can be deliciously unexpected. Who knew Snoop Dogg could bring so much healthy flavor to my kitchen?

I look forward to trying more recipes from his fun cookbook, “From Crook to Cook: Platinum Recipes from Tha Boss Dogg’s Kitchen.”

How Many Calories and Weight Watchers Points in this Healthy Green Smoothie?

According to my calculations, each serving has 120 calories and 4 WW Points. (According to WW, because this is a beverage the fruit Points count. Because I’m a WW rebel who doesn’t overindulge in fruit, I only count the coconut water and optional protein powder in this smoothie.)

This smoothie is low in fat and provides a good balance of carbohydrates, protein, fiber, and essential vitamins and minerals, making it a nutritious option for a meal or snack.

Though the original recipe states it makes 1 serving, it makes two large glasses, so I have turned it into a 2-serving recipe.

Snoop Dog Smoothie Ingredients

2 cups fresh spinach – a nutrient powerhouse, rich in vitamins A, C, K, and folate, as well as minerals like iron and calcium. It adds a vibrant green color and contributes fiber for digestive health. I opted for baby spinach is mild and blends well. You can also use kale or Swiss chard for a slightly different flavor and texture.

1 medium orange, peeled and quartered – packed with Vitamin C, it adds a bright, citrusy flavor to the smoothie. I substituted two mandarins. Try tangerines or even grapefruit for a twist.

1 medium banana, sliced – provide natural creamy sweetness, potassium for heart health and muscle function, and dietary fiber for digestion. For lower sugar options, try using half a banana or substitute with frozen mango or pineapple for sweetness.

2 cups coconut water – provides the sweet and hydrating liquid for this smoothie. Feel free to substitute water, almond milk or dairy milk for creaminess, or fruit juice for extra flavor.

2 tablespoons protein powder (optional) – adds protein to the smoothie, which helps keep you full and supports muscle repair and growth. Choose a protein powder based on your dietary preferences (whey, plant-based like pea protein, soy, etc.). Flavored or unflavored varieties can be used based on taste preferences. I opted for vanilla whey protein powder sweetened with stevia.
